Kan cheong... tomorrow run lor...

Today is "Eat with family" Day. Initiative by Government, so we get to go home one hour earlier to eat with our family. For me it means more playing time which I always welcome. Speaking of that it's time to introduce Eastman, my violin.
.

Violin and 'toys' = SGD800.00++
.
Why I call it Eastman leh? No lar, I didn't cook it from some website lar...It's actually the brand name of the violin. It's China made but with USA standards. When the shopkeeper hand me the violin he anxiously waited when I make some scratching noise, then I give up and asked teacher to play. Can see teacher like the SGD1.3k one more. Said the sound is better, but the shopkeeper reassured me my violin is like wine. The more you play the better it will become. Most of all the value will appreciate. He even showed me one that was traded in. Owner played it for 8 years. Since I am too green to differentiate it, seriously, I took the cheaper one a.k.a my violin now lar. But has the sound improved or not I really don't know. But I love it very much.
.
Wanted to load the song that I played but can't. Gah! stupid Blogger. Anyway started of practising for 30 minutes everyday. Now 1 to 1.5 hours. Shoulder also ache. But it is HARD and TOUGH. Unlike the piano, (yes, I play a bit of piano too) which can produce the same tone by pressing the key, the violin produces different sound if you bow it differently, hence lately lots of dogs are howling outside my window.
.
Despite being a small instrument, it is actually quite loud sounding. I am still no good at controlling it so now it's at one type of gear, loud, loud and loud. Mr Ayam commented it was real loud even when there are 2 doors and a hallway separating our rooms. So far Moo Moo has been really supporting and encouraging me. I can't asked for a better roommate. Thank you so much. She even make her bear listen to my scratching.
.
Anyway I was quite worried about the violin disturbing neighbours and all so I looked up the web. The violin produces 90 decibels, equivalent to food processor. So far most complaints are on drums, so I guess I am ok as long as I don't play after 11.00pm every night. Weekdays I tried to steal and hour or half at most as I also have badminton on Wednesdays and Japanese on Mondays and Thursday. Weekends and Fridays, I love the most cause I can play to my heart's content for 2-3 hours. Ayamses and Moo Moo will only be back quite late... woo hoo! I played so much, the skin on the tip of left fingers has harden especially the pinkie. When I type on the keyboard, it feels like got a bump on it.
.
I should have picked up violin sooner. As such it has been 10 years since the last time I learn a musical instrument. This time, I don't plan to stop for at least 5 years.
